Vegetable Broth

Standard

Well this morning I woke up and was feeling motivated to do something different, besides cleaning…lol! I’ll have toget to that later though…

Over the past two months, my family has made a move to a more plant based diet! So,my husband and I have been collecting our vegetable scraps. When we first began this, we had. Bag in the fridge we would place our scraps. Quickly we realized it would be better to have a freezer continer. So we took a “Tupperware”(not rely Tupperware, but easy to associate) and put it in the freezer. Once we were done slicing. Choping, and peeling veggies, we would just place them in the freezer.

Remember to NOT put bitter veggies in the scrap container like, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage or anything that is starting to rot (duh?!).  DO put in celery, garlic, shallots, onions, carrot peels, green onion prices, mushrooms, bell peppers, and herbs like rosemary, parsley, and thyme.

When you have about 5 cups of scraps this is what you do: (thank you Thug Kitchen).

1- in a large pot fill with about 9-10 cups of water, add scraps.

Here is a shot of the beginning.

2-get this going to a simmer over medium heat. Add 1 teaspoon (I had to add more after the hour. The broth was a little bland) of salt and pepper. Add 2 bay leaves if you have. Let simmer for an hour uncovered to get all the flavors out!

  Simmering for about 30 minutes.

3-turn off heat, let cool and then strain veggie scraps out.

  After an hour!

You can freeze broth for later or put in fridge(use in a week).

Put your container back in the fridge and start filling it up again!

Hope you like!

I choose to freeze mine for later use!

Till next time! 😄

*I am in no way associated with Thug Kitchen or Tupperware. I just love Thug Kitches recipes and I wish I owned Tupperware!

Seriously?!

Standard

i seriously think we have the plague… Not really the plague but definitely one of our own. We can not seem to shake the stomach flu! It’s been in our house for like 2 weeks. 😡😤 I am beyond frustrated!

I am so over it! I don’t want to clean anymore poop or puke! 😪

Not feeling good!

The only way she was comfortable… I felt so bad for her!

Poor guy!

Well, hopefully we are on our way to recovery! Ethan wanted to do school today! Eva seems a bit happier! Essential oils blasting in diffuser… Fingers crossed!

Till next time!

I Didn’t Forget You!

Standard

Hello, I did not forget you! We have been battling an epic stomach flu/bug that appears to not want to leave!

We all have not been sleeping well and are very exhausted! This is the first time I have had a moment alone to type…. And yes, it’s 11:30 PM.

I promise to post as much as I can in the upcoming days!

Shopping trip turned into a fun ride! Thank goodness I had change!

On a fake out spring day walk!  Bonus for me getting some extra exercise!

Bath time Eva hates the end!

Dealing with sickness! Reinforced Ruck.

So sleepy… Fell asleep while playing!

Till next time!

Soap Scum Meet Magic Eraser

Standard

Soap scum you have finally been beaten!  I’m not sure how crunchy this might be… But I needed to do something about my tub.

I tried a lot of things to get rid of the scum, and it always seemed to win! 😩 However, this time, it finally has met its match!😋

Thank goodness for one of my girlfriends mentioning using magic erasers around the house. (On a side not- it’s funny how our conversations have grown up… I mean really?! A convo on magic erasers?! Ah! I guess we are grow ups now… Haha! The whole convo made me giggle on the inside) She said “Try it on your tub for soap scum.” So, I did and  my tub has not looked this good since we moved in 5 years ago!

As soon as I was finished I immediately texted her and thanked her…

It took me about an hour and a half and 4 magic erasers. But look below at how glorious it is! (I should have taken a before pic, but I was slightly embarrassed at how bad it was.)

I was literally doing the happy dance after I basked in the glory of cleaness!

Till Next Time!

*I am not affiliated with magic eraser. I actually used the generic Target brand, and am not affiliated with those either…just a SAHM who wanted to share an awesome cleaning tip!

Stomach Bug!

Standard

Yuck! I hate this! 😷😰😞

I have basically been sleeping all day… Thank goodness the hubs was able to take the kids out! It felt like I actually had a sick day! I am so appreciative of him for doing that….

The things that stinks the most about stomach bugs are the fact that you can’t really do anything except roll with it. I was able to eat some saltines, drink unfixed ginger ale, drink water and my nursing support tea. That’s pretty much all I ate and drank when I woke up from my many naps. I won’t go into details of what the stomach bug caused me to do, but I’m sure most of you can feel my pain!

When my hubby and kids got home… He brought me soup and some cookies(for some odd Eason I wanted cookies… And I was able to keep them down) We then got the kids to bed and now … He’s got it 😔Poor hubby!

On a side not, thank goodness for dōTERRA’s Digest-Zen and Peppermint essential oils. They are helping us out a bunch!

Till Next Time!
